Division Fundamentals
T-Ball Stay on the T: Hitting a pitched ball is not fundamental for this level. Games will move along faster to maintain young player’s interest. Teaches proper batting, running, fielding, throwing, & basic game elements. All players bat, even if not playing in the field. Inning is over after 3 outs OR 5 runs are scored, or everyone bats. 8u Coach/Machine pitch. This improves defense, keeps the game moving, and matches tournament guidelines. Pitching machines are used in tournaments. No base stealing is allowed. Inning is over after 3 outs OR 5 runs are scored. The 6th inning is unlimited scoring. All players bat, even if not playing in the field Potential Pitchers and Catchers are encouraged to start taking outside lessons and attend clinics to develop pitching and catching skills.
36
Division Fundamentals
Introduces stealing and sliding. Uses Babe Ruth rules from the rule book. Emphasizes correct throwing, fielding and batting. Inning is over after 3 outs OR 5 runs are scored. Unlimited 6th inning. All players bat, even if not in the game. Standings are kept and used for seeding in the playoffs. If you aren’t safe at certain positions, you won’t be put there. If you aren’t taking pitching lessons, or don’t have the ability to throw strikes via legal pitching methods, you’re unlikely to pitch. If you need names of instructors for pitching lessons, see a board member after the assembly 12u: Concept of dropped third strike. Emphasizes situational play & uses Babe Ruth rules from the rule book. Continues emphasis on correct throwing, fielding and batting. Inning is over after 3 outs OR 5 runs are scored. Unlimited 7th inning.
