Total of 8 hours a day round trip 4 stops of 15 minutes to rest in the heat walking at an average pace of 4 km per hour 1km = approx 1500 steps 8 hours - 1 hour = 7 hours of walking 7 hours x 4 km = 28 km total walking 28 x 1500 steps = approximately 42,000 steps
