Physical benefits are anything to do with the body; for example, training to run a marathon has physical benefits as it will increase the cardiovascular fitness of an individual. Social benefits are related to the ability to interact with others; for example, playing as part of a football team has social benefits as you have to co-operate with others. 5 8: Analyse how the physical, social and emotional benefits of sport can help a performer stay motivated. (9). The three benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle are physical, social and emotional. Physical benefits are anything to do with the body. For example, training to run a marathon has physical benefits as it will increase the cardiovascular fitness of an individual, therefore motivating the individual to keep trying to maintain or improve their fitness levels. Social benefits are related to the ability to interact with others. For example, playing as part of a football team has social benefits as you have to co-operate with others. This will motivate a performer as they will want to ensure they achieve for their team mates as well as themselves. Emotional benefits are anything to do with the mind. For example, when you achieve something that is difficult, like training and completing a triathlon, it can lead to an increase in self esteem. This will motivate the performer further as it will give them an increase in confidence and they will believe they can achieve even more. In conclusion physical, social and emotional benefits of sport help the performers in a variety of ways and really support the performer to stay motivated.
