2 Leonardo Da Vinci the artist and scientist
Leonardo Da Vincis journals were filled with over 13,000 pages of his drawings of the world. He drew pictures and designs of hang gliders, helicopters, war machines, musical instruments, various pumps, and more. He was interested in civil engineering projects and designed a single span bridge (a way to divert the Arno River) and moveable barricades (which would help protect a city in the case of an attack).

3 Drawings Leonardo's drawings are also quite interesting. He would keep journals full of drawings and sketches, often of different subjects that he was studying. Some of his drawings were ideas that he would paint in later life. Some were studies of anatomy, some were closer to scientific sketches. His most famous drawings is called the Vitruvian Man. It is a picture of man who has perfect body features based off the notes from the Roman architect Vitruvius. His other famous drawings have designs for flying machines and self portraits.

4 Fun Facts • Bill Gates bought his notebook for 30.8 million dollars
• He actually never finished Mona Lisa • In 1962, the Mona Lisa was valued at $100 million, but in 2018 it would be worth $830 million • He liked to write in reverse • His biggest project was destroyed • Although he became one of the greatest artists in history, Leonardo did not have much training • He was ambidextrous, he could draw forwards and backwards

5 Studies of the arm He studied the human body and drew many pictures of muscles, tendons and the human skeleton. He also drew other body parts like the heart, the arms and many more organs.
