3. In Revelation These churches actions were manifest
“I know your works” is told to each church at the beginning of their instructions (2:2, 9, 13, 19; 3:1, 8, 15)
They were encouraged to heed the word.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22)

4. Overcome in order to gain:
2:7 – Access to the Tree of Life
2:11 - Not hurt of second death
2:17 - The hidden manna, a white stone and new name
2:26, 28 - Power over the nations and given the morning star
3:5 - Clothed with white raiment, name in Book in Life and confessed before Father and angels
3:12 - Made a pillar in temple, shall go out no more, bear the name of God, of New Jerusalem and the name of Christ
3:21 - Reign with Christ

5. How Overcoming Is Possible
By the blood of Christ (Rev. 12:11)
This is how the devil is defeated
The blood was shed for the remission of sins (Matt. 26:28)
Justified by His blood (Rom. 5:9)
Purges our conscience from dead works (Heb. 9:14)
Redeems us (1 Peter 1:18-19)

6. Why Overcome? To obtain many benefits previously mentioned
To go to heaven when this life is over
Only the obedient (Rev. 22:14)
We will be with God in heaven (Rev. 21:3-4)
Heirs of glory (Rev. 21:7)
