3 What is the MAPP Scholarship
Massachusetts community college students who are enrolled in a designated transfer program under MassTransfer Block, Joint Admissions or MassTransfer may be eligible for the Tuition Advantage Program Students who received their associate's degree in a designated program within the academic year prior to transfer with a GPA of 3.0 or better to may be eligible for a 33 percent in-state tuition waiver UML enhances the state's existing Tuition Advantage Program (TAP) by offering an additional 67 percent scholarship to award the student 100 percent of in-state day tuition This program is called the MASS Advantage Plus Program (MAPP)

4 Who is Eligible for MAPP
MAPP is open to all Residencies However total amount of waiver and scholarship not to exceed instate day school tuition of $1,454/ yr. The MAPP amount will be prorated for part time enrollment

5 Determining MAPP Status
Student submits official transcript to Admissions office showing qualifications. Admissions places student in MAPP group on iSiS Financial Aid receives a weekly report of students in the MAPP group and awards the scholarship If scholarship is not awarded, review Financial Aid Status page. 6 MAPP Awarding Process If MAPP Group Listed: If no MAPP Group Listed:
Review comments for information about eligibility If no comments, inform student they will be awarded the following week Forward name and ID to Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships If no MAPP Group Listed: Go to Admiss Summary One Applic (UM) page View Tests/Extnl Educ tab Under External Degree, review for Associates Degree from community College within the last academic year

7 MAPP Awarding Process (Cont.)
If No Associate Degree Listed: Inform student to submit an official transcript verifying Associates Degree to Admissions (if incoming transfer prior to start of school) OR Submit an official transcript verifying Associates Degree to Registrars office (if transfer student and semester has begun) If Associate Degree Listed: Forward information to Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships for review

8 Renewal Criteria For Current Students:
MAPP scholarships are renewed for up to 4 consecutive semesters as long as student maintains 3.0 GPA and is enrolled in day school courses
