2 Introduction The Congress of Vienna was a conference of ambassadors of the major powers of Europe, it was held in Vienna from November , 1814 to June 8, The Congress involved Britain, Austria, Prussia, France, Russia, and other minor countries. Its purpose was to settle issues and redraw the continent's political map after the defeat of Napoleonic France the previous spring. On March 1815, and the Congress's Final Act was signed nine days before Napoleon’s final defeat at Waterloo on June 18, 1815.
