2. Scenario
You have a job interview next month as a network operator for a large company. You have been asked to prepare a presentation to take to the interview showing your understanding of current network technologies and how faults are managed on network systems.

3. Outcome and Principal Objective(s)
P1 - Describe network technologies.
P2 - Outline the purpose of networking tools.
P3 - Identify emerging network technologies.
M1 - Describe the potential impact of emerging network technologies.

4. Task 1 P1/p2/p3
Part 1 – Create a presentation explaining these network technologies.
Networking operating systems
Networking protocols
Network layouts
Network devices
Part 2 – Add a section to your presentation outlining the purpose of networking tools.
(provide an example for each)
Part 3 – Identify and explain 3 emerging network technologies. Add this to your presentation. This could include,
Server virtualisation
Video on demand
IPv6
Or any technology that you may find interesting.

5. Task 2 M1
Produce a report describing the impacts of emerging network technologies.
Create a table within your report using the following headings,
Enhanced capabilities
New work methods
ease of use
Populate this table using the information you have gathered from task 1.
