2 AUT… AUT is the unique centre in the country, providing under-graduate and graduate education (62 study programs) as well as scientific research in fields of agriculture and food sector. Three main pillars of AUT activity are: education, research and knowledge transfer

3 Situation… Today's developments are multidimensional and in this context challenges facing public and private actors are quite complex. Universities have immediate needs for collaboration with other stakeholders, where the business is obviously the most important one.

4 Career Center… These needs…
to create a sustainable and proactive cooperation with business, to enable the development and enhance the quality of professional practice, to increase employment opportunities for young professionals who graduate in university, to gather information, to recognize innovative practices of business …. are in fact the main reasons for the existence of the career center.

5 Career Center… The mission of the Career Center at AUT is:
to engage, train and support students in the transition from academic to professional employment. Transitions involve change and change brings on a flurry of questions about the unknown. Sometimes the unknown relates to options, risks, security, location, training, different considerations, etc.

6 Career Center… Students… Business World…
Career Centers at every university are part of the educational mission but not only…. Students… Business World…

7 CC to students… It helps them identifying, planning and achieving career goals for job search It provides valuable information for the labor market and employment opportunities It provides to students knowledge through the development of a career management module It builds and maintains databases as well as continuous contacts in the process of graduating students and alumni at least for three years.

8 CC to businesses… It organizes activities (business fairs, workshops, etc.) that enable employers to have more info about university and new professionals profile It facilitates the recruiting process It creates an interaction with mutual benefits between two sides

9 CC as University’s structure
It promotes and maintains continuous and long-term partnership to provide exchanges between the career center, the academic community and employers within and across the borders. Career is like a “wheel”, rolling continuously and collecting new career-related information as it moves.

10 AUT’s Students and labor market
15,000 Students for the academic year ≈1600 students graduated / year ►AUT’s students career : 44% of AUT students came from agricultural areas Professional practice is compulsory (97% on their profile) 39.4% of students graduated are directly employed 54% employed on their profile ►AUT’s students career : 177 responses (online survey) 44.5% employed (time of employment from 01/2016 to 03/2017) 51.9% agreed that knowledge and skills gained during their studies at AUT supported them to find a job 48.9% agreed that professional practice helped them to find a job

11 ≈ 90% of respondents complain about lack of interactions with businesses during their studies. Within this framework, CC platform constitute a significant investment…
