2 Steps on Building a Geodatabase.
Start ArcCatalog by Start>All Programs>ArcGIS>ArcCatalog 10 Click the Connect To Folder as indicated below. Navigate to the BuildingaGeodatabase folder where you installed the data. Click Ok to establish a folder connection.

3 Once you establish your folder connection, you will be able to see the folder listed in your Catalog Tree. There are different ways to show your contents. Show content as large icons Show content as list Tips and Tricks Show content as details Show content as thumbnail images

4 By clicking the + sign next to the BuildingaGeodatabase folder you can see the datasets in it.

5 Click on the laterals feature dataset
Click on the laterals feature dataset. View the Contents tab to view the feature classes in the feature dataset.

6 You can also view the feature classes in the laterals feature dataset by selecting the Preview tab.

7 You can also view the feature classes information in the laterals feature dataset by selecting the Description tab. Tips and Tricks

8 Click the plus sign next to the Montgomery geodatabase to see the feature datasets. You can also see the feature classes in the Contents tab.

9 Click the Landbase feature datasets so you can see the feature classes in the Contents tab.

10 Click the Water feature datasets so you can see the feature classes in the Contents tab.

11 Expand both the Landbase and Water feature datasets so you can preview all the feature classes in the Preview Tab. This is a cool feature. Tips and Tricks Tips and Tricks

12 Click the owners. dat file in BuildingGeodatabase folder
Click the owners.dat file in BuildingGeodatabase folder. Look at the Content tab and you will notice that the file type is an Info Table. Tips and Tricks

Click the owners.dat file in BuildingGeodatabase folder. Look at the Preview tab and you will notice that the file is a table and it displays it’s contents.

This is my favorite and coolest view. This is the Layers contents using the Thumbnail Images view. This view shows you (gives you a visual image) of each layer and what it contains such as lines, polygons, and points. Tips and Tricks
