Preamble 13 (clarifies) This Directive should not set requirements for the collection of new data, or for reporting such information to the Commission, since those matters are regulated by other legislation related to the environment.

INTEROPERABILITY OF SPATIAL DATA SETS AND SERVICES Article 7(1) Relevant user requirements, existing initiatives and international standards for the harmonisation of spatial data sets, as well as feasibility and cost-benefit considerations shall be taken into account. Is there a user requirement for reporting? Who is the is the user requiring interoperability? Were they taken into account?

Reporting on targets (annual, bi-annual) directly to EUROSTAT - via a dedicated eDamis website. Reporting on Implementation (tri-annual) – Based on Questionnaires directly to DG ENV DG Environment." Member States are invited to use the questionnaires published under "Legislation - Implementation Questionnaires" and send the reports in an electronic format (Word document) to the following functional mailbox: Is there spatial data in the reports? Very, very little… Is there spatial data needed to compile Yes reports? Is there spatial data needed for Yes Implementation of measures & Yes monitoring compliance ?

All major DG ENV legal instruments adopted/reviewed since 2007 refer to INSPIRE for Reporting where relevant. Challenges: Governance ( many 'expert groups') Understanding/knowledge about INSPIRE Roadmaps are not (cannot be) synchronised Stability and variability of "Content" – what is to be reported and in what form Legacy systems Presentation EEA & JRC on INSPIRE reporting activities
