2 Vocabulary Equation- a number sentence that contains an equal sign, showing that all parts are equal Solve- to solve an equation means to find the value of the variable so the sentence is true. Solution-the value of the variable that makes the sentence true. Variable- a letter that holds the place of an unknown number

4 Word problems A box contained some snack bars. Sergio ate 4 snack bars. Now there are 8 snack bars left. How many snack bars were there at the beginning?
