1 “Saved For Service” Romans 12:3-8

2 Ephesians 4:11-14 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

Recognize and Redeem YOUR Gifts

5 Big Idea Life in Christ requires us to recognize how God has gifted us for that life, and then to use that gift for the building up of His body.

6 Romans 12:1-2 …present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

8 Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

9 Philippians 2:5-7 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

10 Philippians 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

11 Recognize the Dependency
Outline Recognize the Dependency

12 1 Corinthians 12:14-15 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.

13 1 Corinthians 12:16-17 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell?

14 1 Corinthians 12:18-20 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.

15 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
1 Corinthians 12:7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

16 1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
