Joseph found favor with men Potiphar Jailer Pharaoh My son, do not forget my teaching, But let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life, and peace they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man.

4. How can a young man expect this kind of life for himself?

5. Joseph was, Self-centered & arrogant as a boy but was pliable in Gods hands. He grew in wisdom as well as stature!

6. Signs of Maturity 2 Timothy 1.8-9: For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, or of me His prisoner; but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God…

7. Signs of Maturity 2 Timothy 2.15-16: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2.22: Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

8. Josephs Work Witness Josephs master SAW the LORD was with him. His master SAW the LORD caused all that he did to prosper. Joseph credited God for his success.

9. Josephs Reputation Potiphar did not concern himself with anything under Josephs care. The jailer did not supervise anything under Josephs charge. Pharaoh put all of Egypt under Josephs authority.

10. Josephs Character Servant. He served those under him as well as those over him. And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. Matthew 20.27 He was concerned for others, even those beneath him. He feared God and thus, was wise and discerning. He wasnt unduly impressed with big-shots.

11. Josephs Character Initiative (self-motivating). Joseph saw what needed to be done and took action. Do you do more than is expected? Do you have to be told before you act? Responsibility. Do you finish a task (what you start)? Do you know when a task is complete? Do you know when to work and when to play?

12. Josephs Character Dependability. Can you/do you follow instructions? Will you keep an appointment? Are you punctual? Wise & Discerning. Joseph knew who NOT to seek counsel from. He wisely assessed needs & formulated an effective plan. He anticipated what the future would look like.

13. Josephs Character Self-Governing. He didnt have fatherly guidance past age 17. He had to discern right from wrong alone. No one was his Holy Spirit nor his conscience. What do you do when no one is watching? Do you respond to temptation like Joseph?

14. Josephs Character Honesty. Can you actually do what you claim you can do? Do you steal? pirating time tithing Do you deceive others? Loyalty. Do you do what you say you will do? Do you keep commitments? Do those you work for prosper because of you?

15. Josephs Character Diligence. Do you overcome obstacles? Do you often claim I cant? Intuitive. Always look for a better way to do something. Anticipate the next step.

16. Josephs Character Whatever his circumstances, Josephs character never changed. char ac ter n. The qualities built into an individual's life that determine his or her response, regardless of circumstances.

17. Josephs Purpose One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the LORD, how he may please the Lord. 1 Corinthians 7.32

18. What did men see in Joseph? They saw manly character that was defined by a genuine devotion to God. They saw a candidate for marriage!

19. You have been taught to honor your parents. I am challenging you to honor your God! This is Man Stuff
