4 1. pillage: (v) to take things from a place by force especially during a war

5 2. inhabitant: a person or animal that lives in a particular place

6 3. persecution: (n) the act or practice of hurting (physically/mentally) those who differ in origin, religion, or social outlook

7 4. asylum: protection given by a government to someone who has left another country in order to escape being harmed

8 5. ration: a particular amount of food that is given to one person or animal for one day

9 6. overburden: to give (someone or something) too much work, worry, etc.
