1 REPORTING ON FINDINGS Discussion
Outline the results and identify any trends in the data Quote data(give actual figures of results that are significant or show a trend or pattern or were not expected) Explain how results might be useful

2 Evaluation Outline key strengths of the design
Outline any problems that occurs and/or any weaknesses(if they exist) in the design of the experiment Suggest improvements for identified problems Suggest further experimentation that may be appropriate in light of your findings.

3 Conclusion A simple statement of what you have determined through your investigation A conclusion should: Be brief, concise and NOT include a discussion of result or an evaluation of the design. Address the aim State whether or not the hypothesis was supported. Example It may be concluded that the warmer the rubber band temperature the greater the stretchiness of the band. Thus the hypothesis was supported.

6 There will be times when:
Your result show no pattern Your results aren’t what you expected The equipment doesn’t work You don’t know where to go from here You don’t understand the books you have been reading

7 How you handle such problems is important
Go back to basics. Check your logic, understanding an planning. Clarify the issue. Draw diagrams and concept maps if they help . Look for options. Go to a text book. Talk to other students or members of your family. Sometimes just talking through a situation can help you see a solution. Seek help from your teacher
