An African proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
Certainly the individual and their families are impacted, but our community needs to take some responsibility as well. Sheila, now 23 years old is drug free and in college. She was one of the lucky ones. Society has to play an important part in taking care of our children like Sheila. Organizations and therapy would help so that children will not have to live through the horrors of drug abuse.
