2. Congress We have a representative democracy.
Congress expresses the will of the people.
Congress is a bicameral legislature- two houses.
One reason for this was that the British Parliament was bicameral.
Another reason is due to the Great Compromise.
It also creates a system for each house to check the other.

3. Terms and Sessions Terms of Congress lasts for two years.
It starts on the third day of January.
Sessions are times when Congress assembles.
Special sessions may be called for by the President.
