3. Phonograms We practice 30 phonograms per week, both orally and written
Tests are given weekly on 20 of the 30 phonograms practiced
Once a month we assess all 70 phonograms

4. Spelling Spelling words are taken from the Extended Ayres word list
We are starting in section “R”
We input 30 words per week
Please check your child’s spelling notebooks nightly
The first spelling test will be given on 8/11

All year: We will focus on sentence structure, topic sentences and details, friendly letters, journal writing… and so much more! 
