2. Composition Notes
After reading through many Native Son essays, I have decided to give you this handout (again).
Make it something you either memorize in its entirety (realistic?) or keep close by at all times (or at least through the revision process).

Discuss the text and prompt briefly.
Read through the scoring guidelines for the FRQ (on the back of your excerpt).
Read through each of the released essays provided. There should be a period of silence for reading. Discussion comes later.
Individually, determine the rankings of the essays: 1-9. Write your scores down on a notecard or in your composition notebook.
As a group, go through the same process.
Make justifications for your decisions, and come to a consensus.

Independently, read and annotate the text.
Independently, answer all MC questions.
Collaborate on a group consensus for each question.
