4 A Living Stone In A Spiritual House
A building of the Lord’s making (Matt. 16:18) This building has a sure foundation (1 Peter 2:6-7, re. Isa. 28:16) The chief cornerstone lays out the building Jesus is the Cornerstone (Acts 4:10-11) The church rests of this foundation and cornerstone (Eph. 2:20-22) A difference: The Old Testament temple was physical The New Testament temple is spiritual

5 Serving In A Holy Priesthood
The Old Testament had a priesthood Descendants of Aaron {Levi} (Ex. 28:1, et al) They serve in the sanctuary (2 Chron. 29:5, 11) All was action of a physical nature

6 The New Testament has a priesthood
Christ as High Priest (Heb. 3:1) Christians (Rev. 1:6; 5:10) Action is of a spiritual nature Singing (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16; Heb. 13:15-16) Giving with purpose of heart (2 Cor. 9:7) Lord’s Supper in a worthy manner (1 Cor. 11:17- 28) Prayer in faith (James 1:6; 5:15) Preaching that is spiritual (1 Cor. 2:13)

7 A Citizen Of A Holy Nation
“Holy” means “separated, consecrated” The disciple is called from the world: By the gospel (2 Thess. 2:13-14) Out of darkness; into light (1 Peter 2:9) To be a people; receive mercy (1 Peter 2:10) Dedicated to God and His service (1 Cor. 6:19-20) A nation (monarchy) King of kings (1 Tim. 6:15) A zealous people (Titus 2:14)
