4 A Christian is a living stone Solid foundation – Jesus Being built together – not a single “stone” We have a pattern – Eph. 3:10-11 It is God’s house – Heb. 3:4- 6, Psalm 127:1

5 A Christian is part of a body “body” is a collective noun (like “church”) The church is a body – Eph. 1:22, 4:12, Col. 1:24 1 Cor. 12:12-27 Rom. 12:4-5 Unity and cooperation

6 A Christian is a laborer Matt. 20:1 1 Cor. 3:9, fellow workers Leaders, 2 Tim. 4:5, 1 Thess. 3:2, 5:12, 1 Tim. 5:17, Philem. 24 Cf. Rom. 16:3, 12, Phil. 2:25 Churches – Rev. 2:2-3, 1 Thess. 1:3

7 A Christian is a laborer 2 Timothy 2:15, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 1 Cor. 15:58, “always bounding in the work of the Lord, your labor is not in vain”

8 A Christian is a laborer Matt. 9:37-38, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of harvest to send out laborers…” Heb. 6:10, “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name…” We need to be busy!

9 A Christian is family Family is a blessing when it is as it ought to be! This is also true spiritually Children of God, 1 John 3:1, 9; Rom. 8:15-17 “vertical relationship” Brothers/sisters – Every child of God is my “sibling” Matt. 12:46-50 “horizontal relationship”

10 A Christian is family We need to treat each other like brethren! 1 Cor. 6:7-8, Failure 1 John 3:10-17, 4:20-21, Don’t hate each other Brethren are there for one another – caring, helping, preferring, defending, etc.

11 Are you the Christian you ought to be?
