Creating a Vision for the Future Statement

2. The Vision for the Future Statement is really a combination of six different paragraphs - Living Arrangement, Primary Activity, Friends, For Fun, Learning, and Other.

3. For each of the six areas, you must type the corresponding Vision for the future statement.

4. After typing the Vision Statement, press the “Tab” key to move the cursor to the bottom box on the screen.

5. Now enter a note about the consumer’s present situation in this area
Now enter a note about the consumer’s present situation in this area. This information can help provide a contrast between where we are and where we intend to go.

6. Living Arrangement is just one of the six areas
Living Arrangement is just one of the six areas. Let’s click on the Next tab and move on . .

7. Primary Activity refers to what the consumer does on most days. School

8. After typing Sally’s Vision for the future in this area, click in the lower box to move to the present situation area.

9. After typing the present situation regarding Sally’s primary activity, click on the next Tab called “Friends”.
Notice that you can check your spelling by selecting “Check Spelling” from the Edit Menu or click on the check mark at the bottom of the screen..

10. Here we type Sally’s vision for the future in the Friends area, and press <Tab>

11. . . and the present situation . .

12. . . then the section about fun . .

13. Instead of finishing this work now, we’ll stop and come back to it later. To do that, we need only click on the “OK” button at the bottom.

14. Pressing the “OK” button returned us to this Open Folder Main Menu screen. To return to the PPSEE Main Menu, we would click on “People” and then click on “Close Folder”.

15. . . and now we are back at the PPSEE Main Menu, with most of Sally Presley’s Vision for the Future completed!

16. To Summarize . . .
With an open chart, go to “Vision for the Future” under the People screen
Select which Vision screen you wish to edit
Enter a vision paragraph and a current situation paragraph
Click on “OK” to return to the open folder screen
