8 Point Point

9 Multi-Point Point

10 The AlphaStar Way With the exception of fiber connections at the teleport, totally bypasses all terrestrial links Able to setup new locations In days as opposed to weeks or months provisioning landlines Utilizes caching technologies to save 25 to 33% of satellite bandwidth Cache content is customized based on location Utilizes WIMAX technologies for the “last mile” which saves on upfront equipment costs and provides easy installation WIMAX unlike WIFI has a wider broadcast range and is designed to cover large areas with maximum bandwidth

11 Video on Demand via the Internet
01Films.com Video on Demand via the Internet Video on Demand via the Internet Streaming of movies on demand over the Internet Library of over 600 films from independent film makers and studios Access to licensed content for a library of over 5000 movies Films include: independent films, short films, documentaries and licensed trailers

12 Live TV Streaming via the Internet
Because of our unique location we are able to down-link International TV broadcasts from global satellites Currently we obtained the rights to down-link 75 channels (audio or video) from world-wide broadcasters who currently A) no streaming capabilities, B)stream at a low bit-rate C) stream only using one player over others D) or require digitization or Teleport Services The TV broadcast is then encoded into a LIVE IP stream that is then distributed over the Internet Ultimately the purpose is to offer these programs on a subscription basis, pay-per-view or Video on Demand This provides an interface between TV content and e-commerce

13 Video On Demand Services
Content AlphaStar can provide origination, aggregation and storage of PPV movies, TV programming, special events, distance learning material, video games, software and other audio and video content.

14 Content Management (VOD)
AlphaStar handles all encryption/decryption, digital rights management, encoding and processing of all video and audio files. AlphaStar will handle the acquisition and the rights to redistribution

15 Distribution (VOD) Transmits MPEG 1, 2, 4 over IP from Oxford, CT via Satellite (Currently GE-5 and have plans to be on GE-6) covering US, Canada, The Caribbean, and parts of Latin America. Tested transmission to Europe by using Loral SkyNet services (TelStar 5, 7, and 12)

16 \ Distribution (Cont) The video file is sent via satellite to a small receiving dish and server located in a cable head-end or in an ISP’s central office. The file is then stored for future distribution. From the video server in the cable head-end or central office the encrypted video file is transferred via multicast to a set-top box or to a computer in the subscriber’s home. File transfer takes place at off peak hours. Subscriber can purchase and request on demand content stored in their set-top-box from a remote control and play it with full VCR functionality (play, pause, fast forward and rewind.) for a pre-determined period of time.
