You have the opportunity to complete an extra credit assignment based on the movie Forrest Gump.
You can choose 1 of 4 assignments that will give you an extra grade in one of the following categories:
Classwork
Homework

3. Assignments Option #1
Identify five major historical events shown in the movie Forrest Gump. Write 1-2 sentences for each event that explains why it is important.

4. Assignments Option #2
The movie Forrest Gump focuses on many events from American history. Pick three of these historical events and:
1) Explain how the movie portrays the different events.
2) Explain how they contributed to social and political turmoil.
Your response should be at least 10 sentences.

5. Tests Complete one of assignment options.
Write the story of Forrest Gump through Jenny’s eyes. Your story should explain how her experience was different from Forrest’s. You should tie in content we studied in Jenny’s story as well.

6. Projects
Identify two major cultural and/or historical events in the movie that we DID NOT talk about in class.
Using the movie and outside research, do the following:
1) Describe each event. (Date, people involved, what happened, how it happened)
2) Explain why the event is important to American society.
Make sure you cite all outside information.
