1 Definitions: Evidence-Based Claims- 1.) the ability to take detailed
information from a text and to understand what it means. 2.) analyze the text to connect the information to real world events.

2 Claim: Is a statement of the truth. Typically one that is disputed or in doubt.

3 Evidence: is the facts or information that shows whether the claim is true or valid.

4 Reasoning: Is the action of thinking about something in a logical, sensible way.

5 Inference: is a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning.
