2 Rules of Evidence Is each piece of evidence:
Valid Authentic Current Is the total of the evidence provided Sufficient  The State of Queensland (Department of Education and Training), 2009

3 Is each piece of evidence VALID?
Does it: cover the broad range of skills and knowledge that are essential to competent performance? provide evidence of skills and knowledge integrated with practical application?  The State of Queensland (Department of Education and Training), 2009

4 Is each piece of evidence AUTHENTIC?
The assessor must be assured that the evidence presented for assessment is the learner’s work.  The State of Queensland (Department of Education and Training), 2009

5 Is the each piece of evidence CURRENT?
Evidence must: reflect the learner’s current knowledge and/or skills in the relevant aspect of work establish that the learner can meet the requirements of the current version of the relevant Unit/s of Competency and industry standards  The State of Queensland (Department of Education and Training), 2009

6 Is the collection of evidence SUFFICIENT?
Quality and quantity of evidence Enough evidence to ensure that all aspects of competency have been satisfied Assessor must be confident that the participant can perform the competency consistently  The State of Queensland (Department of Education and Training), 2009
