2 A pair of siblings who served decades behind bars in the rape and murder of a North Carolina girl will walk out of prison free men Wednesday after DNA evidence implicated someone else. Henry McCollum and Leon Brown were just teenagers when they were arrested in 1983 and charged with the rape and murder of 11-year-old Sabrina Buie in Red Springs, North Carolina. It was a cigarette butt that ultimately set them free. DNA found on a cigarette "matched another individual named Roscoe Artis, a convicted rapist and murderer who lived less than 100 yards from where the victim's body was originally found," said a statement. Artis is already serving a life sentence in a North Carolina prison on a separate conviction. It was not immediately clear Tuesday whether prosecutors would bring charges against him for Buie's murder. McCollum (50) and Brown (46), will walk out of prison today free men.

3 In Other News Local Giant Food Stores are holding their annual Hunger Action Month. Giant stores host food drives and hunger-awareness initiatives throughout September to benefit area food banks, including Philabundance and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley. Giant's annual in-store Bag Hunger campaign runs through Sept. 13. Investigators believe a killer is among them, strolling the lush streets of this coastal California community, on the hunt for another victim. A police sketch circulates around town, along with a detailed description: A white male, 56 to 60, last seen wearing a white shirt and aviator glasses. His motive: aggravation. Authorities say the suspect may be so tired of roaming peacocks in this high-end community on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County that he's systematically killing them. But this time he may have slipped up. In July, a witness spotted the man pull up in a Mercedes Benz and open fire on a peacock with a pellet gun. That brings the death toll to 50 in two years.
