Battle for control of Ohio Valley Western Confederacy of Indians (with some British aid) vs. the United States US Constitution is vague on the relationship between the federal government and Native American tribes As more Americans flooded into the territory, Indians led by Little Turtle and Blue Jacket fought back winning several victories. Eventually the US was able to defeat the Native Americans under the leadership of General Wayne. Treaty of Greenville (1795) –secures most of the land in the Ohio Valley from natives; ends resistance for a short time
