3. Gestalt Principles:
Figure/ground: When we look at a scene we instantly get a feeling of figure and ground

14. Principles of Grouping
Closure: We fill in the gaps to create a complete, whole object

15. Similarity: Objects that are similar in appearance are more likely to be perceived to be in the same group

16. Continuity: Objects that create a continous form (such as a trail) are likely to be perceived as belonging in the same group

17. Proximity: Objects that are close together are more likely to be perceived as belonging in the same group
