Program Review Reminder: send supporting documents specific to the year being reviewed Due to recent audit: we will randomly select students to verify residency each year Current program review – SSG will first attempt to verify a student’s residency. If no information can be found through our systems we will reach out to the college for proof of residency. i.e. tax return or drivers license (issue date needs to reflect that is being audited)

TIP Notification SSG receives a file annually from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) containing eligible TIP students and their last known mailing address. The annual file was recently loaded in MiSSG December, 2018. SSG mails a notification in February to TIP eligible students who have not completed their application and are not known to have a bad address. SSG mails a reminder postcard to all eligible seniors who have completed their applications during the fall of their graduating year.

Eligible TIP students who haven’t completed their application.

Program Reminders Important to bill for ALL enrolled students each semester/term of the academic year SSG cannot accurately project remaining expenditures when students are not certified SSG can ONLY make payments on behalf of students for the current academic year TIP and CVTG Letters of Eligibility are NOT required. Some institutions are still telling students it is a requirement, thus creating a barrier for students enrolling Institutions having additional TIP requirements should clearly state those as your requirements and not a requirement of SSG CEPI reporting annually

MiSSG News REMINDER: Newest ineligible reasons on reports:
High School Graduation After Award Year Makes students ineligible for award if their high school graduation is in a later academic year Example: Students who graduate in 2020 are not eligible for awards in Academic Year FAFSA Not on File: Students will be ineligible for any award in an academic year that MiSSG does not have a FAFSA on file MiSSG Manual is available on our Web site Residency Certification reason: Not enrolled vs. No need sent to “not enrolled students” (sent late December)
