2 Electromagnetic Induction
The charges in a wire can be moved by moving a magnet in and out of a coil of wire. In a circuit, a current is made by changing the magnetic field.

3 Electromagnetic Force
The electromagnetic force is due to electricity and magnetism. Electromagnetic waves are made of magnetic and electric fields oscillating at right angles to each other.

4 Transformers Made of two coils wrapped around opposite sides of a closed iron loop. A magnetic field is made by a primary coil and creates a current in the secondary coil.

5 Transformers Used to adjust the voltage to homes
Step-up transformers increase the voltage leaving power plants Step-down transformers decrease the voltage entering neighborhoods
