1. Ergonomic Mouse Design

2. Target Population
95th percentile, left-handed women ages from 35 to 45 years old with long and bony hands and fingers.

3. Reason for target population
Mice are not typically made for left handed people, so this mouse would allow people to have a mouse specialized just for them.
People with longer fingers are probably not comfortable with the classic mouse design because their fingers (overall hand) is too large for the mouse and there fingers require more bending.
At times the mouse is not soft enough for people with bony hands.

Ring Finger – 86mm
Pinkie – 68mm
Grip length – 78mm
Thumb height – 64mm
Thumb width – 17mm
Palm height – 92mm
Wrist length – 61mm
* All of these measurements were found on the second page of the measurement packet to match my target population

5. Rational for buttons and scroll
Left click button – 15mm in height & 10mm in width
Right click button – 14mm in height & 10mm in width
*These button were put on the index and middle finger so that there is easy access when clicking on those buttons.
Scroll – 7mm in width, 21mm in height, and 10mm in depth
*The scroll was placed on the right side of the mouse because that way the user of the mouse can easily reach the scroll and use it when needed.

6. Testing and Evaluation
There were 10 people who tested the mouse and the results showed:
Positives
The indents were comfortable
There was easy access to reach the scroll and buttons
Negatives
Contains an awkward appearance
Difficult to move around

7. Redesigning the mouse
If I were to redesign the mouse I would consider changing the appearance of the mouse so that it would look more appealing. I would also change that the design to make it more functional and easier to move around.
