Session is another interactive session All of the sessions have been designed to give some additional support and guidance to you working every day within your centres. This session hits at the basis of our working lives - making assessment decisions and standardising those decisions. Wednesday 24th - Research Skills: Models for Delivery - Research Skills

3 Lets get marking Business Accounting Do not panic -

4 What is the aim of this activity?
Assessors must make assessment decisions on a regular basis. Internal Verifiers must work closely with Assessors for consistency and quality assurance. We need to work at making sure that the assessment decisions we make are appropriate. Your ideas will be different from other colleagues here at the conference and in all of your centres. The idea is for us all to share our skills to develop good practice which we can implement consistently to enhance our professional approach. 10 Second Task instructions
Take the the assessment decisions that you have made about each of the 2 candidates. In your groups discuss these. There may be similarities and differences between the decisions made. 11 What do we do now? In your groups discuss whether the candidates have passed the outcome or not. Remember to use the unit specification and marking guidelines to determine whether each candidate has met the requirements of the outcome. Hold a professional discussion within your groups to decide the overall decision for each candidate. Make notes on the reasons for your overall group decision. 14 Summary You should by now have had some meaningful discussions with colleagues. This is a vital part of any assessment process. Make sure that you keep a record of these discussions. You need to justify your decisions and also to ensure that you apply logic consistently over all candidates and cohorts and years. Remember assessment decisions are often a group effort.
