Xenograft growth inhibitory activity of ZD4054 alone and in combination with paclitaxel or gefitinib [16,17]. Nude mice were injected subcutaneously in the dorsal flank with 1.5×106 HEY human ovarian carcinoma cells. After 7 days the mice were treated as indicated with ZD4054 (once daily ip for 21 days), or paclitaxel (three iv injections 20mg/kg every 4 days), or gefitinib (once daily po for 21 days), or combinations as indicated, or with vehicle alone (control). Experiments were carried out in triplicate, with 10 mice per group in each experiment. Figures represent mean tumour volume±SD.
