2 Who made the violin Most scholars credit Andrea Amati of Cremona (c ), as the first known violin maker because there exists documentation of two violins he created between 1542 and and However, these instruments had only three strings, like the rebec. The first four string violin, also by Andrea Amati, was dated 1555.

3 What is a violin A stringed musical instrument of treble pitch, played with a horsehair bow. The classical European violin was developed in the 16th century. It has four strings and a body of characteristic rounded shape, narrowed at the middle and with two f-shaped sound holes.

4 Why is a violin important
Violins are the most important instruments in the orchestra. They are the highest-sounding of the string instruments, which also contain violas, cellos, and string basses. Because it is bowed and not played with air, violins can play long melodic phrases.

5 Who is one of the most important musicians
Itzhak Perlman (1945 – present ) One of the most famous violin players of all time, Israeli-American Itzhak Perlman has had an incredible recording and performing career. Since the 1960s he has toured extensively, playing with all of the greatest orchestras and conductors around the world. He’s also played at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009, and has appeared on many popular television shows including, Sesame Street, The Tonight Show, and The Ed Sullivan Show. Perlman is featured on over 150 records, most of which are of the classical idiom.
