5 Your Welfare The Prevent Duty
A government strategy to stop people becoming involved in violent extremism and/or in supporting terrorism. All members of the school (staff and students) need to support this, in order to maintain a safe school environment. What can I do? If you see or hear anything you are worried about – in the school, where you live, online – or if you have concerns about another student, please tell us immediately.

6 Your Residence In your residence, you are part of a community.
Please remember to... Respect the residence rules Keep your bedroom and common areas clean/tidy Eat your own food, don’t steal Put toilet paper only in the toilet – nothing else Let your houseparent/warden know when you are leaving the residence (Charminster students) Let your houseparent/warden know if you are feeling unhappy or unwell Speak English in common areas Lock your bedroom door when leaving the residence

7 Your Homestay In your homestay, you are part of a family.
Please remember to... Ask before taking food Ask before bringing friends home Put toilet paper in the toilet Keep your bedroom tidy Let your homestay provider know where you are going Exchange mobile numbers Tell your homestay provider if you don’t want dinner for any reason Make conversation with your family And… you CAN drink water from the tap in the UK!

8 If you require school emergency support, please call:
Private Accommodation If you are staying in private accommodation, please go to reception and give them your address. If you require school emergency support, please call: (if there is no answer, leave a voic message and someone from Kings will call you back as soon as possible)

9 Curfews and Emergency Phone Numbers
Students aged 14 to15 – Curfew 21.30 Students aged 16 to17 – Curfew 22.30 (including 18 year olds in Charminster residence) Students aged 18 and over – No Curfew Residence Emergency: Homestay Emergency: (if there is no answer, leave a voic message and someone from Kings will call you back as soon as possible) Save in your phone now.....

10 Your health If you have any medical problems, it is important to tell the school immediately. If you feel sick, or need First Aid, please tell a member of staff. Students who are studying for 12 weeks+ We recommend that you register with a local doctor. Do not go to the hospital for minor problems! EU students can see a doctor free Students from outside the EU pay £35-£40 to see a doctor Everyone pays for prescriptions (medicines) Everyone pays for any hospital treatment
