Goals for this week:
Math
We will add and subtract using standard algorithm with and without regrouping.
I will use a variety of strategies to generate and solve word problems.
Reading
We will use text features to help with keywords. We will use context clues to figure out the meaning of unknown words.
We will play around with tricky words by saying them a few different ways in order to figure them out.
I will read and understand tricky words to help me better understand the nonfiction book I am reading.
Writing
We will use our table of contents to help draft chapters in our informational books.
We will study mentor texts to look for ways to include scientific information in our books.
I will develop a table of contents to help guide me in writing an information book.
Science
We will understand that natural resources come from the earth while other resources are man-made from natural resources.
We will discuss how reusing, recycling and conserving materials help save the earth.
I will identify ways I can help save resources.
Social Studies
We will explain the significance of Thanksgiving.
I will write about the significance of Thanksgiving.
Word Work
We will decode words with -sh, -th,
and -wh.
I will spell words with -sh, -th,
