1. Research Project
CA 1.3 Research and analyze the work of an artist and write about the artist’s distinctive style and its contribution to the meaning of the work.
Due: Wednesday, March 9th and 10th!

2. Who is your favorite artist?
Why?
Who were they?
What did they did?
How did they influence other artists?
What are period did they belong to?

3. 3 parts to this project: written, art, presentation
The written report will contain the following.
2 pages in length about your favorite artist and his/her contributions.
An introduction to the artist and the artist body of work (their art pieces).
Their contributions to and influences on the art world.
What era or time period did they belong to?
You must use and properly cite at least two references.
You will be graded on accuracy of content, grammar, and proper citation.
Do not plagiarize. Any act of plagiarism is an automatic 0 and a violation of the student code of conduct.
If you have any questions about what is plagiarism, please see me, Ms. Kim, Mr. U, or any other senior or English teacher.

4. … the Art Piece
. Your art piece will be a replication of an art piece by your artist. You may choose any art piece that they created but will contain the following:
you will be using 9x12 paper (your notebook paper)
your medium will be oil pastels
you will be graded on accuracy of your art work which based on the elements of art; color, shape, texture, etc.
If you chose a sculptor or 3 dimensional artist, you can replicate a drawing of the art piece.

5. ..and the presentation Option 1: a video uploaded to YouTube
For your presentation, you will be given two options, both of which should be 2-5 minutes in length and highlight information you researched. You must also include a picture of your art piece along with the art piece you replicated. Presentations will be Mon/Tue 3/13-14.

Option 2: A PowerPoint presentation.

Have an outline completed for your written report and 5 of at least 10 thumbnail sketches.

Your research paper, art piece, and presentations will be due at midnight of that day ( ed or turned into the sub)
