1. Water Quality Maintenance – for the prevention of Legionella
In order to reduce risk of legionella infection all water baths in the range of 20-45oC must be disinfected once a month.
Accepted Methods: Heating to 60oC for 15 minutes or, addition of a commercially available bactericide or, changing the water and removing all possible nutrients from the bath e.g. sludge, scale, organic matter.
All tap units must also be opened once a month to allow fresh water to be introduced into the pipework and tap.
Please date and initial the following table when one of the above steps has been taken. Keep in your safety folder for each water bath you are responsible for. Please number all baths for easy identification.
