2 Electricity Do you know the following words? Electricity Charge
Battery Electron

3 Station 1: Lemon-powered battery

4 Station 1: Lemon-powered battery
Electrons flow from the zinc in the nail to the copper in the penny Powers the light bulb

5 Station 2: Charged balloon

6 Station 2: Charged balloon
Atoms are made up of electrons, protons, and neutrons Protons – positively charged Electrons – negatively charged Neutrons – neutral, no charge By rubbing the balloon on a surface like a wool sweater or carpet, the balloon becomes negatively charged. Electrons jump from the sweater to the balloon, and the balloon sticks to the sweater…opposites attract!

7 Station 3: Build a circuit
Using the given materials, create your own circuits. Wires with alligator clips Batteries Light bulbs

8 Conclusion After completing all of the stations, try to explain these terms that you saw at the beginning of the lesson: Electricity Charge Battery Electron
