1 What happens when My proposal gets Funded?

2 Notification The Primary Investigator (PI) should receive an from Sponsored Programs stating that they have received notification of funding. Forward this to Kelly Jackson as she typically doesn’t receive notification yet Kelly Jackson will fill out the Award Checklist Form and send it to the PI for review NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE CHANGES (Pay special attention to RIF/%Collaboration) Kelly Jackson will forward the updated form to Sponsored Programs who will then send it to Brigitte Fasciotto (EVPRI) for review Bridgette will send back to Sponsored Programs and/or PI for any corrections Once all information has been verified a Chartfield is established

3 Money Makes the world go round
7 Days: The typical amount of time that it takes from initial award notification to when accounts are created and the PI can access the grant money Kelly Jackson will maintain a Spending Plan that will be sent to you monthly to review. This plan is fluid. It will adjust as situations change REVIEW THIS DOCUMENT EVERY MONTH Especially the salary portion. It won’t be charged until the PI and Connie Braden approve Travel and operating expenses are not projected until they are firm Any spending plans that are not approved within 60 days will be turned into Connie Braden Don’t know how to review your Spending Plan? Ask Kelly. She’ll sit with you and walk through it with you!

4 Charges and Invoicing the sponsor
All billing is done by Sponsored Programs Sponsors are typically invoiced monthly or quarterly unless noted differently in contract Notify Kelly Jackson of any milestones or technical as she doesn’t automatically receive updates on these Speed Business Center doesn’t order supplies since they are responsible for reconciling orders PI should make purchases using the procard tied to their RIF or their department procard and then request for charges to be reallocated to grant account Don’t have a procard yet? No problem! Request one from Kelly Jackson. The approval process typically takes 2 weeks.

5 All good things must come to an end (Closing out a Grant)
The close out process typically doesn’t start until at least 90 days after the project is completed. Kelly Jackson will initiate a Close Out Request form that she will fill out The Investigator will provide confirmation of work completed If there is a No Cost Extension, it is important that the PI notifies Kelly Jackson
