Types of internships Curricular Internships
included in the study plan in compliance with Italian DM 270/2004, takes place during the course of study (i.e. before completion of the course) and is aimed at merging the knowledge acquired through attending university courses with actual professional experience. Training and Guidance Internships is carried out once the title has been conferred (within 12 months of graduation), in order to refine graduates’ training in a professional sense, thus facilitating their professional choices and/or reinforcing the State exam which qualifies them to practise as professionals. They are regulated by laws at regional level.

Curricular internship abroad: students may participate to international mobility programmes: Erasmus+ Mobility for traineeships, Erasmus+ Programme - Unipharma Graduates Project , Erasmus+ Programme – North South Traineeship Project , Vulcanus Programme Europe-Japan Dissertation Internships (in Italy or abroad): students may conjugate the curricular internship with practical work needed to prepare, on the basis of projects agreed with their supervisors, their final reports or dissertations, both for first-cycle and second-cycle degree programmes.

From the administrative point of view
The service is now organized transversally in supply chains by subject areas: scientific, humanistic, social and medical areas. UNIBO is gradually moving from decentralized to centralized services (in the past each faculty had its internship administrative or office). Internships are carried out on the basis of an agreement between the UNIBO and the host structures. The strength of this service is the Tirocini online platform.

From the student point of view
Who is eligible Regularly enrolled students are eligible for internships, which must be included in their study plan. How to choose the Company Students can consult the list of structures that have signed an agreement with Unibo and they have offers available online. Spontaneous application can be also approved, by asking the company to publish a specific offer (known as “ad personam” offer), via the University's internship platform. If the host institution does not have an agreement with Unibo, it can be stipulated before the internship starts. How to activate and approve the internship All the process can be done online via the Tirocini online platform. Besides the internship office, a referent professor will approve the activity before and at the end, as well. Insurance cover UNIBO guarantees insurance cover for students against accidents at work and third-party liability claims.
