Distant or diminished breath sounds on affected side.
Sudden drop in SpO2, PaO2
Cyanosis
Tracheal shift
Sudden increase in ventilation pressures – possible high pressure limit

8. Pneumothorax Diagnosis and treatment Increase FIO2 to 100%
Call for STAT Portable CXR
Reduce or turn off PEEP
Notify Physician immediately
Prepare for chest tube insertion
