4 Build UITF –where are we today?
Finish the mechanical design! Pretty close now…. Need beampipe between QCM and HDIce! Gun Group (+ Vacuum Group?) Installation group, compressed air and water to valves, viewers, cups, dumps EES: Cable-up all the MeV beamline components valves, viewers, BPMs, harps, water flow meters, current monitors, ion pumps…. Magnet group: build a third trim-card rack, cable up all magnets RF group: finish klystrons and high power amplifier, water skids SRF, re-commission the QCM with RF Electrical engineering and SSG: design and build the PSS BCM, our "credited control" to limit beam current/loss and prevent accidental exposure to x-rays SSG needs to incorporate high power RF interlocks into PSS, recertify. Commission the BLMs. Add PSS BCM to circuitry RCG: finish specifying the shielding requirements RCG to install all CARMs and electronics Ops Software to support all this! Gun group needs to build a new photogun, improve the Wien filter R&D related to sub-nanoAmp operation (this will be important for CEBAF too) 4

Review #1, UITF – Will it Work? Review #2, UITF Safety Concerns Review #3, What is UITF’s Conduct of Operation? (besides this review, there is a large accompanying package of documentation, e.g., OSPs) Review #4, Accelerator Readiness Review (are we ready to operate?) Review #5, and Experimental Readiness Review for each Use if UITF

6 Drivers, Considerations
Andy has proposed a schedule, four run periods to support eventual HDIce installation CEBAF for four A- rated PAC-approved experiments. HDIce work at UITF complete February 2020 Arne suggests QCM installation at CEBAF during long shutdown Mary Logue suggests I have a naïve view of obtaining permission to operate UITF CTF limited LHe capacity, busy CMTF schedule UITF has value beyond QCM and HDIce commissioning (today’s meeting) CIS is not adequately staffed to operate it (plus CEBAF, LERF and GTS)
