2. Mission
Problem : Lack of schooling for children of Migrant laborers in Tamilnadu.
RDT Solution : School(s) integrating Education, Nutrition and Health Awareness among Migrant Children (and parents - laborers)
Identify and enroll all underprivileged migrant children (under 14) in RDT Schools to provide quality education and long term training skills. (Eradicate child labor)
Run RDT schools on par with Govt. schools (in their own language)
Supply daily nutrition via mid-day meal plans
Provide day care facilities and promote health awareness for children below 5

8. Concerns Student strength dropped 25% (from 337 to 256). Higher Budget
Considerable number of children who completed their primary education in RDT schools in last year were migrated and joined in Andhra schools for higher education (6th ,7th & 8th  std’s).
Some migrant families were gone to Andhra to get certification of Aadhar and Voter ID purpose.
Considerable number of families who were temporarily settled in OMR road porambokku lands (high way road sites) shifted to other blocks for the high way road extension. We were discussed with the community and plan to start new centre to their children education very shortly in two villages at Reddipalayam and Sittilampakkam of Kattankolathur block of Kancheepuram District.
Higher Budget
The first reason is gradual price hike in all food items   in recent months in Tamilnadu due to petrol and diesel price fixation every day. This is one of the major areas of differences in the current budget.
Some new budget line items is added in the current budget namely science exhibition Rs.30,000/-
Salary for DCC supervisor(new post)Rs.6000x12 months=72,000/-
DCC  cooks(4 staff) salariesRs.3000x4x12 months=1,44,000
Rent for DCC centre additional Rs.2000x12 months=24,000/-
Reparing & painting for Padur DCC centre(1 time)Rs.5,000/-
Asst.Co-ordinator salary Rs.1000/- increased in salary Rs.1000x12 months=Rs.12,000/-
Field Staff travel (T.A) –Bus fare increased in double in Tamilnadu in this project year. RDT providing actual bus fare to all field staff.
Annual tailoring maintenance charges is added in the budget for Rs.3,000/-
School Van yearly maintenance(insurance, Road tax & fitness certificate etc increased(last year Rs.46,900/-This year increased to RS.67,800/-

9. Case Study
I am Sandhya, 11 years old. I am from Koramu. Srikakulam District from Andhrapradesh. I have
completed three years in Tamil Nadu along with my family members. We are living in a rented house in
Tamil Nadu. Now I am studying class V in Egattur School. My parents are going for construction works in
Hiranandani. I was studying in a matriculation School in Andhra before coming to Tamil Nadu. My sister
is in class VI in the same school. This special school provides all the education materials at free of cost.
My father advises me to attend the school regularly.
I informed my father of the computer course which was offered by RDT in the month of December 2012.
He did not make any comments at that time. I too wonder why he did not say anything. After some days
I told him that I type English alphabets on the laptop. He was astonished to know that i opearte
computer. He has promised that he would give education even after SSLC. My father told that he would
admit me in a hostel in Andhra Pradesh to pursue my higher study. I have acepted it. He also proudly
told that I should not suffer like them under the scorching heat for the low wages. Mrs.Sumathy, the
Head of nearby government school told that I draw picture very well. Her appreciation makes me get
more interesting in my study. I am very grateful to RDT for providing education to us.
