4 The sun is setting on instructor-led delivery as the dominant way to train employees
Increasing emphasis is being placed on e-learning and social collaborative learning as the central delivery methods. Up 20% Down 12% Social collaborative learning is projected to almost triple in usage as a primary learning delivery method. 5 Like most system purchases, the decision to buy an LMS shouldn’t be taken lightly
Sometimes delaying or not purchasing at all is the best decision when conditions aren’t right for an LMS. Without a well-defined Learning Strategy, it’s difficult to determine which LMS functions are required. Don’t waste your money buying a platform that you won’t use. n= 158 Source: McLean & Company It means the organization has to assess their learning environment from a “holistic” point of view – not just focusing on their technology needs…not yet. My recommendation is to resist the bright, shiny object syndrome and take the time to assess the organization’s “readiness”.
