2 The Toulmin Model Because – Since - Therefore
Claim – The position or claim being argued for or against. Evidence– information that supports the claim. Warrant – unsaid assumption that connects a part of the evidence to the claim.

3 The Toulmin Model Because – Since - Therefore
Claim – You should get a hearing aid. Evidence– 70% of people with hearing difficulty hear better. Warrant – You want to hear better.

Claim – The Seahawks will make it to the Superbowl Evidence– Seahawk defense leads the league in takeaways Warrant –Defense wins football games

Evidence– Wilfred practices 3-4 hours a day Claim – Wilfred is a successful musician Warrant –practicing make you better

Grounds – 90% of HS students have a cell phone Claim - KR should allow cell phone use in class Warrant – Students will use cell phones wisely

7 We Must Fight Because It’s a question of freedom or slavery, and since we don’t want to be slaves, therefore we must fight. Because it’s natural to hope that things will work out, but since nothing has worked out in the past, therefore we must fight.
