Plant Systems A majority of plants have 2 types of systems
The Root system The Shoot System

The Shoot System The shoot system is everything above ground. This includes the vegetative parts, such as the leaves and the stems, and the reproductive parts, such as the flowers and fruits.

The Root System The root system is below ground. This is where some of meristem tissue is found

The Meristem Tissue The meristem region of cells capable of division and growth in plants. Plant Meristem tissue can be found in 3 places The Buds (where new leaves start) The Stem (Vascular Tissue) The Root Tip

Vascular Tissue The Vascular Tissue is found in the stem of the plant
There are 2 main parts The Xylem (moves water up the plant) The Phloem (moves sugars down the plant)
