Local Authority Mobility Platform Authority sentiments Sentiments expressed at the workshops We can fix the technology easily enough, it’s the organisational/operational integration and expediting of procurement that’s key. Providing sufficiently large contract areas to give minimal points of contact and economies of scale is important, for example procurement and operations on a combined authority level. Regional, Metropolitan and Combined Authority level working makes sense to us as Local Authorities.

Findings What have we learnt that we didn’t know before? Local authority needs Private Sector needs Access to their data. Investment in in-house skills to facilitate a mobility platform. Low complexity access to funding/procurement. Modern methods to manage their networks better. Enhanced/improved ability to communicate with their customers. Easy/pain-free access to local authority data. Consistency, so that their solutions can be tested and deliverable to market anywhere in the UK. Stable policy and marketplace environment to invest in their solutions e.g. whether they to go to Datex II-compliant UTMC platform.
